I feel uncomfortable dating anything I write. A dated journal is terrifying. If someone reads it, you aren’t able to say “Oh, I wrote that years ago”. It’s right there on the paper. You wrote that. And you wrote it at a specific time, on a certain day, and that is the frame of mind you were in when you wrote it.

This is something I’ve been interested in participating in since a few years back, but never got to in time. I’m considering trying it out this year. After all, what’s the worst that could happen? I don’t write enough poems?
