Apologies
I apologize for my lack of posting lately.  I’ve been beyond busy, and don’t want to crowd all of your lovely dashboards with sub-par posts. I’ll try to get to all of my inbox messages this week, and hopefully a new batch of posts! Bear with me dears!

Waking
Forgive me this early transgression of an unmade bed - I am no morning spirit, no coffee-drinker. Excuse a naked face or repeated gesture; one of drinking water from a pitcher and spitting back blood or of the easy toss of an arm over a head, a sigh into the crook of an elbow, a yawn into dawn’s open mouth. Pardon the blaspheme of an unfolded morning as I rise, coughing and half-blind from a...

– “What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you: ‘This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more’ … Would you not throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse the demon...

I do not understand  the workings of mirrors; my reflection. a mirage, an image.  Glass and light  insubstantial as the glint from a watch-face on a Florence street in April, on a sunny day. Evelyn G.

Anonymous asked: What poetry form do you usually stick to, Free verse? Do you try to follow any sort of “rules” or meter, or do you sort of just write? Do you have any tips on writing? (Forms, terms, etc. that you try to stick to?) I mean how do YOU write your poetry? Why go anonymous? I’d love to talk with you about writing! I started replying to your post, but then it started...

believemeapollo asked: I hope you don't mind this, but as you know I really admire your poetry. I used to write poetry, but I haven't in quite some time. I've been writing these excerpts of thoughts, and I was wondering if I could share them with you. If that is alright, please let me know. I don't want to crowd your inbox, so I will wait for a response. :)

Tide
I betray myself; some understanding  of the moon’s influence on a heavy tide is no aide to the deep which settles dark and measured below my aching ribs. The red ship rides a warm Southern  current with news of a coming storm.  Bearing in on the thick water she cuts a straight,  low course, quiet under a rocking moon. The tilt and keel of her close hull harbors no  slick rats or itching lepers....

Under the waves, from the dark wet places, recover me. Heave  me from the weeds dripping, my lungs  shut tight like clams. Pry me open! If I will come  from the waters and gasp, lying against dark stones and spluttering salt water, you must clear the sand from my throat. You must dig faster than I can burrow. -Evelyn Gendron

Momentarily
I feel today like one long, low sigh, the oncoming of a bout of depression.  Back away, I say!  Sorrow, be gone! Dull ache in my body, leave me be!  Weight on my chest, lead in my feet, concrete in my stomach, settle somewhere else, on some other soul.  I have no need of you here, I’ve had my fill of you. You are an unwanted knock on my door at an inconvenient time.  Leave me be. Leave me...
